Amy & Johnny's Engagement Session | Cape Solander Kurnell

Amy & Johnny are getting married next month up in the beautiful Byron Bay, but seeing as they are both from Sydney, we all thought it would be a good idea to get some engagement shots done down here before they went up. This was a good opportunity for them both to jump in front of the camera and get some of those nerves out before their wedding day. Amy & Johnny also wanted to get some shots with their fur baby, Louie, as he isn’t able to attend the wedding so this was the perfect opportunity for us to get them all together.

So we headed off to Cape Solander, which is in the Kamay Botany Bay National Park in Kurnell for the first part of our shoot. Unfortunately Louie isn’t allowed in here so he got some quiet resting time while we headed out onto the headlands and battled some strong winds coming in off the ocean.

For the rest of the shoot we headed down to the other end of Kurnell to Bonna Point Reserve. Louie was so excited that for most of the shoot we just let him run around and do his own thing. So there was lots of chasing the birds, rolling in the sand or just being cute following Amy & Johnny along the beach. We got some great moody skies due to a storm rolling in behind us as well as the smoke hanging around from all of the bush fires. Its unfortunate that that is what created the moody skies but at the same time I love photos that have dramatic skies in them.

I cant wait to see Amy & Johnny get married next month surrounded by all their family and friends. I am lucky enough to be a guest at their wedding so it will be nice to have a day off and to not be running around like a crazy wedding photographer.
