Hi! I'm Amye (the lady hiding behind the camera) and yes my name is really spelled like that. I won’t hold it against you if you do spell it the normal ordinary way of just plain old Amy. Over the years I have learnt to just deal with it and get used to the fact that my parents decided to torture me with the spelling of my name for the rest of my life. Don’t even get me started on why I decided to hyphenate my surname when I got married, so that my kids now have a complicated surname as well. Haha.
Apart from the unusual spelling of my name I am also a wife, mum to twin girls, coffee addict, V8 lover (GO HOLDEN) and you guessed it, a professional wedding photographer. I specialise in Wedding Photography across The Hunter Valley, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie & Newcastle areas. I love to capture you and your loved ones in a natural but stylish way using beautiful panoramic images that showcase the stunning location you have chosen.
I prefer to shoot without too much staging as I like to capture you in the moment. We will have some fun, play some games and basically just hang out. This allows me to capture the real moments created by you and your guests, the moments that you will treasure for years to come. As every couple and every wedding is different I like to take the time to catch up and get to know you both over a coffee or wine and find out what is important to you, as this allows me to know where I really need to focus on your wedding day.
My love of photography started back when I was in school. I loved the creative outlet that photography provided me and I continued this into University. Photography for me is about capturing the moment and the people that are important to you. It isn’t until you lose someone close to you that you really do realise just how important those captured memories are. As I was starting my career in Wedding Photography I unfortunately lost my Dad. He was a big supporter of me doing what I love, but he hated getting his photos taken. I now look back on my own wedding photos and realise just how important these photos are, as they are some of the few photos I have of us together. So I believe its important to make sure you too will have these memories to look back on in years to come.
I am a big believer that photos should be printed and displayed proudly around the home. If you were to walk into my home you would see photos everywhere and that is something that I like to encourage with my clients. So feel free to ask me to show you some examples of albums and prints when we meet up to discuss your wedding day.
I would love for you to check out my portfolio of work and please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
I look forward to meeting and working with you soon.
