Anna & Andrew's Melbourne Wedding at Noisy Ritual

The wedding of Anna & Andrew started off as a bit of a family adventure for us. When my husband found out I had a wedding in Melbourne he thought it would be a good idea to turn it into a family road trip. Keeping in mind that we have 2 year old twins. So off we set for our first real road trip as a family, with the car loaded with snacks and DVD’s. The first day ended with us stopping just outside of Albury, at Lake Hume. Where there was this amazing lake right at our doorstep to explore, and a gorgeous moody sunset.

We eventually found our way to Melbourne (still all in one piece) and all ready to go for Anna & Andrew’s wedding.

We started the day bright and early with Andrew and his groomsmen at his parents house. The boys were all having a nice quiet and slow start to the day. Not long after we got there Andrew received a surprise from his bride in the form of a new watch and a traditional Maori green stone necklace accompanied by a sweet letter.

We then headed off to the other side of Melbourne, to where the bride and her family were getting ready at an amazing Airbnb in Yarraville. The house was full of Kiwi accents, as the girls getting ready there had just flown in from New Zealand a few days earlier. It was then that I discovered that almost half of the people attending the wedding had traveled over from New Zealand. When the bouquets arrived I was amazed by the stunning colours and the use of blackberries which I haven’t seen before. These flowers were prepared by one of Anna’s close friends.

The ceremony was held in Methven Park, Brunswick. A nice quiet and leafy little park around the corner from the reception venue, Noisy Ritual. There was one minor hiccup as the bride got caught in traffic on the way to the ceremony but the guests enjoyed the lawn games while they waited. The ceremony was full of love and laughter and it was so nice to see everyone being genuinely happy for them.

After the ceremony we took the bridal party off to Edinburgh Gardens and the local streets surrounding for some photos. We were so lucky to come across this amazing street art just outside the gardens, which really made for some great fun photos, that really show off just what Melbourne is all about.

The reception was at Noisy Ritual and was loud and fun and every one was having a great time. The speeches were funny and emotional and also with a few tears. The brides speech was one of the most heartfelt I have ever heard.

I wish Anna and Andrew all the best in their life together. I know its going to be a great one.
