Rachel & Matt’s autumn wedding was held down in the Southern Highland’s of NSW at the gorgeous garden venue, The Secret Garden. Rachel & Matt decided to have a morning ceremony followed by a lunch time reception all held at The Secret Garden and the weather couldn’t of been any better for a full outdoor autumn wedding, especially considering the few days before were very very wet.

So as a result of the morning ceremony my day started off very early with the boys at their Airbnb in Moss Vale before I headed off down the road to see the girls. But I didn’t mind as I got to see a beautiful sunrise driving through the foggy southern highlands on my way to start the day.

Rachel & Matt asked their local pastor from Campbelltown City Baptist Church to come and perform the ceremony which was a lovely touch to include a traditional ceremony but in a garden setting. After the ceremony we wondered around the beautiful grounds of The Secret Garden for all of their portraits. We were even lucky enough to still have some lovely autumn colour in the trees.

Their outdoor garden reception was set amongst the beautiful big trees in the Azalea Lawn, which provided a beautiful setting for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. The speeches during the reception had to be some of the best speeches I have heard at a wedding for a while. Rachel’s Dad even had a surprise during his speech by giving Matt some snacks to keep on hand for Rachel as a ‘just in case’.

Then after the reception had finished, I headed off with Rachel & Matt down to Shellharbour, so that we could get some sunset photos on the beach before they headed off to their Airbnb for the night. Rachel & Matt also decided to have a private first dance down on the beach, with just the two of them and some fairy lights just as we lost the last of the light for the day. I think this was the perfect ending to their wedding day.

I absolutely loved the way Rachel & Matt planned their wedding. It was different to how most weddings are organised but it still included a lot of the key wedding day moments. So thank you Rachel & Matt for allowing me to capture your wedding day. I had an absolute ball hanging out with you both for the day.
