Cherie & Jim's Traditional Greek Wedding | Pioneer Memorial Park Sydney

Cherie & Jim’s wedding was a beautiful relaxed day, even though we had some horrible strong winds to deal with for both of the portrait sessions.

The day started as usual with a visit to Jim and the boys to get some photos of them all getting ready for the day before I then headed over to Cherie and the rest of the family to get some photos of her and the girls putting on those final touches.

Jim & Cherie choose to do a first look before their ceremony, which is a great way to relieve some of the nerves on your wedding day. We did the first look photos at Bridgewater Park in Rozelle. We had to battle with the gusty strong winds, but we were able to find a few sheltered spots to take some beautiful photos.

We then headed on over to St Gerasimos Greek Church, which is their local church they attend, for their traditional Greek wedding ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony and made even more special as all of their children were right by their side the entire time. Their entire wedding party was made up of their 4 children and it is a beautiful way to include them, especially when you have older children.

After the ceremony we headed down to Pioneer Memorial Park in Leichhardt, which was just down the road from the church for their bridal portraits right on golden hour. Which is honestly the best time for your portrait session as the light at this time of the day is just perfect.

It was then time to party! So we headed on over to Barnwell Park Golf Club for their reception. The reception went off with a bang literally as we had indoor fireworks to celebrate their arrival, cake cutting and also the first dance. There was also lots of emotions running throughout the night and there was not a dry eye in the house when Kristy, Cherie’s daughter, made her speech. It was so nice to see just how proud she was of her mum and how excited she was to see her get married to Jim.
